Effective Permissions for a group

  • Version - SQL Server 2005 SP3

I have added some users to the group "PROD\SEA-SQL-READ" and gave them read access to the group. But when I click Effective permissions I get the below error.

Cannot execute as the server principal because the principal "PROD\SEA-SQL-READ" does not exist, this type of principal cannot be impersonated, or you do not have permission. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 15406)

    Thank you all in advance

  • It is a bug in SQL Server 2005 Managment Studio. The fix suggested by MS is to use the SQL Server 2008 Managment Studio.

SQL = Scarcely Qualifies as a Language
