Editing/Removing Connections in Maintenanace Plans

  • Hi Everyone,

We created the maintenance plan in one server in the named instance for the backup. We created new server

    and moved the instance.

The mainetanance plans and all SSIS packages ares till pointing the old server.

How to update all data sources connections in single step?

I observed that in the maintenance plans when you try to edit under manage Connections tab the select or enter a server name is not highlighted.

I able to add the new connection but not able to edit or remove the old server connection.

  • I don't think you can batch-modify maintenance plans.

That's one of the advantages of writing your own, using SSIS and T-SQL, instead of using the built-in tools. When you write your own, you can migrate, customize, update, etc., more easily.

I could be wrong, and there might be a way to do this, but I don't think there is.
