Hello -
This has just started happening - I have an SSIS job that has 3 steps on the Control Flow. An Execute SQL Task, a Data Flow and a Script. When I right click on Script and select Edit it comes up with a dialog box. I select Script from the options on the left pane and then click on Design Script - I get an error message 'Cannot show editor for the task.' Under Additional Information I get 'Value does not fall within expected range'
Any ideas?

What version of SQL do you use? 2005 or 2008. The first step is step is to review the list of installed addins for Visual Studio and disable one-by-one until you find which one is causing this problem. If you determine the addins are not causing the problem, then you have to reinstall the client Tools for SQL Server.

I ran across similar issues some time back when using one my backup dev machines, and it turned out that I was using an RTM (unpatched) version of BIDS 2005. Make sure you've got the most current service pack and patches on the machine on which you're using BIDS.
