Editing column mappings

  • Hey All,

Moronic question here.  I'm more used to SSIS in SQL2005 and I've been assigned to edit some packages in SQL2000.  In the package designer under tasks, the first one is called 'copy data from 1 place to another' or something.  When I highlight that task and scroll to the bottom of the right pane, I see SourceSQLStatement.  I can edit that value, but it doesn't change the source and destination column mappings for the task.

Am I an idiot?  Don't answer that!

How do you change column mappings underneath a task and a transformation.  And what exactly is DirectCopyXForm?

    Appreciate any help.

    Thanks.

    Steven

  • Hi Steven,

One piece of info that would be helpful is to know what type of object you are referencing.  My guess is it is a DataPump Task which can be tricky especially if the original creator used ActiveX script instead of letting the normal mapping do it.

Am I correct in this at least?

    Thanks,

    John
