Dynamic column expanding

    Hello, just curious about this. Is there a way that I can make it so certain columns expand (or not expand) on a Reporting Services report based on the data in that column? So a column would only be as long as whatever data is in it?

    My understand is that it's not really possible/easy to do with SSRS 05 but with 08 you can do it. There are a number of hacks out there that basically call for recreating the RDL and republishing prior to execution by the user. I don't see this as a good solution.

    The CanGrow column and textbox properties in 05 allow vertical grow, allowing things to wrap. Perhaps that would be able to meet you needs?

    I'll try that out. Yeah we're stuck with 2005. I have 2008 at home. I'll play with it just at home to get familiar.
