DTS package

    Hi all,

    A couple of years ago. I designed a simple DTS package to import data from text file to a database table on a daily basis. But I completely forgot how I did.

    Now I need to create another similar daily data import DTS package. Can you tell me is there a easier way to duplicate that old DTS and modify it for the new task?

    Do you still have the old package? If you do, open it in DTS Designer and save it with a new name. Then you can open the new package and make whatever changes are needed for the new import.

    If you have the old DTS package, then save it as a structured storage file and then open it in EM and save it with different name. Then you can change the textfile path and table name as you wanted.

    Create an import data job using All Tasks, ....

    Save as DTS

    Then, modify it.
