Does Tuning Advisor actually perform updates/inserts on database?

    Does Tuning Advisor actually perform updates/inserts on database?

    I have a TRC from profiler that I want to run in through the Tuning Advisor.  However it contains inserts and updates, which I don't actually want to perform again.

    Does the tuning advisor actually perform the inserts or ??

    No, it will not actually run the inserts, it just goes through the objects referenced and "walks through" the steps, your actions from the trace will not be recreated.
