Do multiple RAID controllers benefit performance

  • Is there a benefit to using multiple RAID

sets and controllers? For example, putting

data, indexes and the tran log on separate

controlers so when a large multi row update

or insert is done, the modifications to the

data, indexes and log are done on different

    channels in parallel.

  • You always get a bennift by increasing the number of synchronous IO that can take place at one time. Yes major advantage, or even using a single controller with multiple channels.
