Disabling Adhoc Distributed Quries

    I am asked by the security team to disable the ad hoc distributed queries option.But i have the transactional replication enabled.Do that get effected disabling this ...?

    no, removing ad hoc will not affect your replication.

    in 2008, it's a right click with the SSMS object explorer on the server and go to "facets": disable these two items if they are enabled:
