Dimension and Measure usage

    Does anyone know if it's possible to determine what dimensions and/or measures are actually being using in a cube?

    We have added many dimension attributes and measures at the request of users, but we really need a way to determine if they are actually being used.

    I'm no expert, but have seen many posts regarding this one. If you simply want an indication of whether it's used a trace with SQL profiler is a simple option.

    You could get the full MDX statement, user, cube, execution time etc

    Hassle is it's the full mdx statement, cumbersome to break up into measures, dimensions.

    But it's a start.

    However it might become a bit intensive if you just let it run without thought on how the trace would affect your production environment...
