I just became responsible for a program running on a SQL server. I discovered that there were no backup plan, so I created a maintenance plan taking backup. I then discovered under All Tasks/Backup database that there is a backup created.
My question is:
What is the differens between that backup created under All Tasks/Backup Database and the backup created by the maintenance plan ( that creates a backup job) ??
Which one is the best ??

There is no difference. Except a maintenance plan is usually scheduled, so its manual vs automatic.
If your new to sql, and are responsible for production database, then you should definatelly read this, and get some more books.
