I was a big proponent of unit testing when I developed web applications. Seems hard to get data teamsto have enthusiasm for testing data. As you said, it's not necessarily for you, but so others feel comfortable for refactoring. And that might be you in 6 months! In addition to unit type testing, you also need operational testing to make sure that data arrived on time so that you know you're missing yesterday's sales data before the business tells you.

We're using CI/CD with Fabric, and it's very clunky. I'd be interested if you have a link to the presentation you mentioned.
