Development in SSRS 2K8/ Deployment to SSRS 2k5: problem

    Hi,

    I have successfully developed reports within SSRS 2008 and I am wishing to deploy them to the SSRS 2005 report server. But the following "famous" error it is giving.

    Error:- The report definition is not valid. Details: The report definition has an invalid target namespace 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2008/01/reportdefinition' which cannot be upgraded.

    I am sure someone has encounterd such kind of error while deploying to 2005 server. Let me know if there exists any solution to this.

    Am pretty sure that you can't do this. The RDL got some serious extentions when moving 2008 (simple examples are the gauges etc, avail in 2k8 but not 2k5).

    The rendering engine in 2005 wouldn't be able to handle the schema elements of the RDL that are 2008 specific.
