Deploying web part is unable to load the wsdl file from the reporting services server.

  • Hi,

    Long story...

We installed the reporting services in ServerA and applied SP3 and report server database and report servertempdb are placed in ins1 in ServerB, which is also have SP3.

Now, The developer is trying to deploy his webpart from visual studio into serverA, but he is getting the following error:

Custom tool error: Unable to import WebService/Schema. Unable to import binding 'ReportingService2006Soap' from namespace 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/2006/03/15/reporting/reportingservices'. Unable to import operation 'SetReportHistoryOptions'. The XML element named 'ScheduleDefinition' from namespace 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/2006/03/15/reporting/reportingservices' is already present in the current scope. C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Projects\MakeAModel\Properties\Settings.settings 1 1 MakeAModel

So my developer went through the forums and comeup with the following solution, saying report server is creating a corrupted wsdl file. From the link

    http://blogs.msdn.com/bimusings/archive/2008/05/15/problems-making-web-reference-to-reportservice2006-unable-to-import-operation-setreporthistoryoptions.aspx.

and then we went to the Report serverA open the WSDL(ReportingServices.wsdl) and started deleting every element which referred to the SetReportHistoryOption operation. and the the error is gone.

But when deployes the webpart he is not able to see the methods which are supposed to come(I do not know much here what the developer saying though)

So my question is any thing wrong in the installation of Reporting services in ServerA?

What should I make sure to tell them my reporting serives installation perfect?

    plz advice me
