  • Been recently doing something similar for my own client but without the 'Impact Mapping'.  

    Seems, from your description, your customer needs to put on their 'ideas' hat, as did mine; you as DBA can get them ANY kind of data their system can yield.  

    Typically companies wish to drive down cost, boost sales, and find opportunities for both.  I recently did a Enrolments spreadsheet for my client, a Karate school, where their enrolments per month, per year, were tabularised.  This already is a visualisation they didn't have before (yeah!), and as they were so unused to this level of detail, they had some issues with interpreting the data.  I recommended they look for trends, ie 3 consecutive months where, year-on-year, enrolments were down (or up).  This allowed them to focus on what could have happened to cause the fall, or rise, and take repeat/evasive action accordingly.
