When I choose "Generate SQL Script..." for objects in my SQL 2000 database my default directory is always "My Documents". Is there a way to change the default directory or at least have it default to the directory I chose the last time I generated a SQL script?
Also, why do I get a different style of dialog when I choose "Create one file per object" vs. when I choose "Create one file" in the "Files to Generate" frame on the "Options" tab of the "Generate SQL Scripts" dialog? This is poor design in my mind, but what do I know.

There is a help topic in Office on how to rename or Change My Documnets folder location: just rename in Windows Explorer and copy somewhere.
I did another thing: right-clicked on My Documents folder on my Desktop, renamed it to MyNewDocumnets, On the Target tab in Properties specified the new folder location amd then tried to save a script. By default it opened in MyNewDocumnets in the new location. BUT.... the whole office will probably have this location as default. There is a way in Word to change Word location individually.
This thing will work for me personally because we don't normally install Office on the servers unless needed by an application and I really like to save all documents to a specific folder. If someone else logs in to the same server then he will have to browse to the new location that you specified to see scripts. Assumimg (s)he has permission.

From Query Analyzer, select Tools, Options and look at the General Tab. This will let you specify a default location for both your Query and Result files. Is that what you were looking for? Hope this helps.

Oops. Just realized that you were talking about EM and not QA. I'm not sure if there's a way to do this without changing your default location for all Explorer operations on the machine in question. There should be a reg key hack or something where your could make this specific to SQL Server but I haven't found one yet. If you could set it to 'last directory remembered' like you can for IE, that would be nice.
As to your second question, I'm not sure why you get a different dialog. It hasn't ever really bothered me as I have as a rule usually just created one file for whatever I was scripting out.
