  I am receiving the following error: Server: Msg 8985, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 when attempting to run: dbcc shrinkfile(jvlk_0100Log, 20).

  It is almost like existing log file have been corrupted because if I create a new log file and perform the dbcc command on it it works fine. Any suggestions on how to fix the sysfiles or these logs if they are corrupted?

  The rest of the message should read like this

  Could not locate file 'jvlk_0100Log' in sysfiles.

  Verify you spelled the name right by running

  select [name] from sysfiles
