DBCC FREEPROCCACHE

  • 1. What is the minimum role or permissions a sql user needs to execute DBCC FREEPROCCACHE?

    2. How about sp_recompile or any system procs.?

    3. We have created a new domain. We moved an existing server with multiple sql 2000 standard edition instances intot he new domain. We set up a 1 way trust from our old domain to the new domain. NT authentication and sql authentication works fine.

But NT authentication does not work on the second instance of the server in the new domain.???

  • BOL is a great resource for this type of stuff.

    1. Permissions default to sysadmin and serveradmin

    2. Public role, but users can only affect their procs (unless sys or server admin)

    3. not sure. Not surprised. This is AD 1.0

  • Thanks.

We fixed the share problem by making the service pack on the SQL instances the same. 🙂
