Daylight Savings

  • Hi,

I'm from Perth, Western Australia and we are starting Daylight Savings here for the first time this weekend...

Apart from changing the clock on the server, is there anything else we need to do, eg, reboot the server?

    thanks.

    Karen.

  • Karen,

I don't think the clock settings take a reboot, try on your workstation first. Check your jobs that run around this time, so you would not miss a job like a backup job. Check also with Microsoft, they were announcing a patch related to daytime saving changes.

  • Unless there is something specific to your timezone, I don't think anything needs to be done.  There is an "Automatically Adjust for Daylight Saving" checkbox on the Time Zone tab of the Date & Time Properties dialog.

You can check registry entries in:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\TimeZoneInformation\

You should be able to verify if the DST values are correct & whether the automatic change will work.

    A value like 00 00 0b 00 1e 00 02 would correspond to Nov 30 @ 2:00 a.m.

    HTH
