I wasn't sure where to post this question, so I hope it is okay here. Anyway, I'm currently a DBA, and getting a little tired of the on-call schedule. There's an opportunity at my company to jump to the Data Warehousing Team. I'm just curious what you all think of the DW career outlook?
Is DW becoming automated? Is report building becoming automated? I'm just curious, not trying to fear monger. With a move to the cloud are the cloud services automating report building? I assume that DW design and modelling will be long lasting.
Are these sorts of positions easy to find for Remote Workers who live out in the country?
