Has anyone read the book Data Mining with Microsoft SQL Server 2008?
If yes, it it worth the read? Or should I avoid it?

I have that book, and it is interesting if you are into understand how it completes a mining query, and how to tweak it.
I would say that it's certainly aimed at a 'seasoned professional' audience, so be aware. Good book, though, and definately worth as a reference when struggling to understand mining processes.
