A Dedicated Administrator Connection (DAC) allows an administrator to connect to a running instance of SQL Server to troubleshoot problems even when the server is unresponsive to other client connections.
The DAC is available through SQL Server Management Studio or through the sqlcmd utility.

Also, if 'remote admin connections' is not set you cannot connect remotely and must do it at the server physically.
