Customizing a comment

  • I want to customize the way comments appear. Right now comments appear with a green script. Is there anyway I can customize them so that they are bold with a yellow background so that they are easier to notice and read?

    Thank you

  • What comments, where, in what application?

If you're talking about Management Studio, go to the tools menu, select options. In the resulting dialog expand out environment and select "Fonts and Colours" Make sure that the drop down at the top is set to "Text Editor". In the list box in the center scroll down to "comments" and select that. Then you can set the item foreground and background to anything that you want, you can change the font and size and make it bold.

Those settings are specific to your Managment Studio.

  • I meant comments in SSMS where you write the query. But I just found out how to do it...

Go to tools in the menu bar in SSMS...choose options....Expand Environments....Click on Fonts and Colors...then select Comment under Display Items. Then change the type of font and color you want the comments to appear.

Thanks for posting back. Since you found it, I will leave it be - that is what I was assuming you were driving at.
