Hello Everyone,
Would you mind having a read over my question please?
I'm starting out with SS Reporting Services (2005) and would like to create some custom SQL functions (not vb) to make administration of some reports i'm building easier.
I don't 'own' the database that i'm reporting from.
Is it possible to create, save and call custom functions in the reporting services environment using the generic query designer? If so, where do I store them/how do I call them??
Hope this question isn't too N00b-ish.
Many thanks 🙂

I think this is a pretty interesting question. I never considered doing this before, but I think if you can write it in SQL you can probably take that SQL and put it in a Data Source View and then use that DSV when you need. I am not sure you could really get it to behave like a function, but it would a fun project to try.
