Hello together,
there have been several topics about this issue but i could not find a solution for my problem.
Server: 64 Bit
Sql Server: 64 Bit
Oracle Client: 64 Bit Instant Client with 64 Bit ODBC driver
After manipulating the registry we could finally see the "Oracle in instantclient10_2" Driver in the Driver list under "Administrative Tools\ODBC Connection". Test Connection gives positive feedback.
Now i am facing two problems:
1. Which provider should be used in SQL Server so i can connect to oracle? At the moment i only see "Oracle Provider for OLE DB". But for what reason did i install a odbc driver when i can only select ole db in sql server?
2. When trying to access the database from a tool like toad the error message appears "Cannot Load oci.dll".
Can someone help me, or am i doing something completely wrong?
3. Which provider in combination with which driver should be used?
Thanks a lot,
David
