couldnot connect to sql server -memory allocation

  • Hi all,

    I tried to install sp3 on sql server 2k and it failed to run the first script and when i restarted my server and tried to run the setup again it's giveing me the error that it couldn't verify my account.I am a local system admin on that box and now i am not able to connect to the server since it says

    couldn't coonect to server

    reson:memory allocation failure.

    The server is up and running .Any help is highly appreciated.

  • Use server network utility to verify TCP/IP is enabled.

  • it's enabled.

  • Check registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSSQLServer\Client\ConnectTo\DSQuery value to "DBNETLIB" exists.

    TCP/IP has to be enabled in Client Network Utility in Server too.

    Which MDAC version in your server?
