Copy SSMS Maintenance Plans from SQL Server 2005

  • Hi Folks

i am just starting to look into SQL Server 2008 even though I have not mastered SQL Server 2005, so my first question is: is there a way to copy over my Maintenance Plans from my SQL Server 2005 server to my SQL Server 2008 server ?

    Thanks

    Jim

  • If its an upgrade, it will come up in the upgrade plan and the maintenance plans will be upgraded too.

  • Hi Folks

    not an upgrade

Connect to Integration Services using SSMS. In the Object Explorer, expand Stored Packages. The plans are stored under msdb/maintenance plans. Right-click on each package there are choose Export.

  • Thanks Paul
