  Technocrats,

  Prelude:

  I have a utility which connects to SQL Server 2005 and after certain interval updates/inserts records and utility runs contineously with only one connection open.

  Issue:

  I have found after 10-15 mins the update/insert statements runs very slowly.

  Analysis:

  I have changed utility and now it re-connects automatically after 10 mins, it works absolutely fine

  Question:

  Why it is having such delay when i am using the same opened connection?

  It shouldn't need to reconnect to get performance up. We'd need more information, but I'd suspect a leak in your utility somewhere, not SQL Server.
