Hello all,
I receive this error it seems about 1 in 5 attempts when opening a dts package or saving a dts package or just opening up a table in enterprise manager.
Connection failied:
SQLState:'01000'
SQL Server Error:10060
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL SERVER DRIVER][TCP/IPSOCKETS]connection Open(PreLoginHandshake())
Connection failed:
SQLState 08001
SQL server error 11
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL SERVER DRIVER][TCP/IPSOCKETS]General network error. Check your network documentation.
this error is really annoying when i have worked a few hours on a dts package and then cannot save it.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
Mark

Sounds like a bad network connection. Do you ahve any other network issues with other apps?

Steve, I have talked to IT and they are having no other problems. they seem to think its on the client side. We have been getting alot of timeout errors also. Maybe a slow network?
thanks

I remember seeing a Knowledge Base article on this, but I'll have to search for it. Hopefully someone will find it before I do, but if not, I'll take a look for it at work tomorrow.

I had this problem and for me it was related to the MDAC installed (may have been just one of the dlls not registered properly). When I reinstalled the problem went away.

There is an issue with MDAC 2.6 connecting to SQL Server 7:

This wasn't the article I was thinking about, but it did stand out. I'll keep looking.
