Connecting Reporting Services to a cube on external database

  Hi,

  We have a service provider who has designed a cube using our sales data. We can connect to the same from Excel using OLAP services and create custom pivot table reports. Would it be possible to do the same using Reporting Services or any other option in SQL Server 2005 ?

  Basically we want more flexibility to use the cube. If we are able to access it using SQL Server directly, we may be able to create web reports and make it accessible via our Sharepoint portal.

  yes you can definately write reports against 2005 cubes.. possible 2000 not sure... I'd check the MS SQL Server website.
