I have a tabular cube, with myself included in one of the roles.
I can connect to this tabular model via Excel successfully, and would now like to connect to a Power BI semantic model rather instead.
However I get the attached error.
I suspect there additional security needed to be defined, but unsure where.
I have direct access permissions on the data model within the Power BI workspace.
Any suggestions welcome? Thank you.

It's possible that you're just not using the correct url for the connection, because the connection string for data models in Power BI look a little different.
Use the "Analyze in Excel" feature from the context menus of the data model in the Power BI workspace. Once you have the open Excel document open, you'll be able to look at the properties of the connection.

I get the same error when using Analyse in Excel from the Power BI report.
On another forum, it was suggested this feature requires Premium or Fabric capacity where my organisation has Pro.
