Configuring Cluster with more than one IP address

  • I have the following configuration:

    - 1 VM configure by the cluster

    - 2 Nodes (BD with sql server 2000)

it all works fine, but for matters of network performance, I wish to have an extra network card in one of the machines connected with crossed cable to another application machine.

Is it possible to configure two ip's in the cluster configuration. Meaning, continue with the ip cluster and now have an extra IP also responding?

I have tried to configure it, and the cluster config is capable of setting a new IP associated with the network card, but it does get to respond in the port 1433 (checked it with netstat).

    Thanks in advance,

  • I guess it isn't possible 🙂

Thanks anyway to all that read.

  • I suggest you ask this in a Windows forum. There are a lot more windows system engineers who know about this aspect of network configuration than there are SQL folk.
