Configuration manager

  • I've tried a number of suggestions from various blogs:

    1) mofcomp.exe "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Shared\sqlmgmproviderxpsp2up.mof"

    2) grant users and network rights to the \share folder

I haven't solved the problem yet

    Any other ideas?

  • What is the problem and the related error messages?

  • I'm trying to start SQL Server Configuration Manager. The message I get is "Cannot connect to WMI provider. You do not have permission or the server is unreachable."

  • Did you try changing the service account of "Performance Logs and Alerts" service? May be you can try starting it with the SQL Server service account.

  • Pradeep, I needed to run Configuration to enable FILESTREAM, but now I can't even connect to the instance of MS SQL. I think I am going to have to reinstall but it will have to wait until next week because I don't have the media here. Thanks.
