Clustering - License - Active/Passive

    Hey All,

    I am setting up an active/passive 2 node cluster running windows 2003 Enterprise and SQL 2000 Enterprise.

    I have read that I only need to license SQL on the active node.  What about Windows?  Do I need to license the passive node for Windows?

    You will have to license both Windows nodes, you are correct in the licensing for the SQL Server.

    Hello,

    Thanks for the reply. 

    Actually, I heard back from the Microsoft Windows Web Hoster program over the weekend and they state that only the Active node needs to be licensed.  My apologies for not closing this thread out sooner.
