I have a vm cluster, now installing the sql cluster
I have an ip for the following
cluster
node 1
node2
dtc.
I am at the question of cluster network configuration and need to supply an IP address. It won't let me use the ip of the cluster, do I need another IP

yes, and a further unique IP for each extra clustered instance you install.

Yes You will need 2 ip's (Heartbeat IP, Private IP) for each node & 1 Ip for SQL server.

I assume you meant public and private 😉

If you are new to clustering, take a look at SQL FineBuild. This can install SQL Server as clustered or unclustered. For a cluster install it can also create your MSDTC cluster (or clusters on W2008). The Reference Manual is a separate download and explains what you need for the cluster install.
