Hi,
I was installing SQLServer 2000 on my work station (OS WIndows 2000), and wanted to install only the client without creating an instance of SQLServer on my local machine, I could do that in SQLServer 7.0 on NT 4.0 machine, can I do it now or has it changed ? While installation, it gave me an option as client components, or instance of SQL sever but at no time did it let me to seperately install client componenets only ??

First select the option "Create a new instance of SQL Server, or install Client Tools".
On the next screen enter name and company.
On next screen agree on license.
Then on the next screen you can choose:
- Client Tools Only
- Server and Client Tools
- Connectivity Only
Select Client Tools Only here
