Hi guys
need some desperate help
I work on a software which runs on sql server 2005 at the backend
on occasions due the weird reasons
I wont be able to login into that database which uses sql 2005
as it enforces the password policy
irrelevant whether it has a password previously or not
things I have tried to fix
I have a tool which attaches the db , so that I can clear the pw
but using that tool on this case ( and mostly it occurs on a vista machine )
gives me a message that
"file is in use "
I can detach the db through db tool
and the next message is
login failed for user 'actadmin' where actadmin is the master user
I have used tools to recreate login page
uninstalled and reinstalled the software including sql instance but
cannot break into the database
I have used sql mgmt express tool too to clear the pw
but of no luck
how to fix this ?.
your suggestions will be appreciated
thanks
sri

What os are you running SQL server on?
Are you running on a domain?
Can you post the exact error message you are getting when you have a failed login?
