I have a server with 2003 Ent and sql 2005 (clustered) that contains various DBs including a few Citrix DBs.
Long story short; noticed that CTX nodes were coming in using the named pipes, the server accepts both named pipes and tcp/ip, the Citrix (3 or 4) database are communicating with the farm using tcp/ip.
Here is the question!
can we just change the citrix node connectivity to come in and connect to the application dbs using tcp/ip only and if successful then I can turn around and change my clustered sql server nodes' surface configuration for remote connections to accept tcp/ip only?
I hope you are clear as mud, because I am.
thx
