Child package issue in SSIS

  • Hi All

I have around 5 child package in one parent package. All the child packages run without any errors but the last 2 child packages does not show up the package in design mode rather it shows the XML format. This problem is when i run parent package in BIDS. could any one help ASAP. Because when error arises we will not be able to figure out in which task error is coming as the child packages are not in design mode.

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers

  • How come those 2 packages don't open in design mode?

Do you get any errors? How do you open them?

  • Hi Koen

I am able to open them individually in designer mode and run, but when i run the main package ususally the chidl package opens up and shows the running of child package in designer mode but here wierd thing is happening. Its running in XML code mode. This is happening only to 2 child packages rest others run normally.

Ah OK, so you can still check the layout of the packages.

Then you just need to configure proper logging and read the logs to see what is happening.

When the packages are running in production you can't open them there either...
