I tried to install SQL Server 2008 on a machine after I uninstalled SQLServer Express and SQL Server 2008.
I did not perform the installations on the machine, the person who did is gone.
I thought that I had removed SQL Server 2005 but I attempt to install SQL Server 2008 it list SQL Server 2005 as being installed.
So then I attempted to uninstall GDR 4053 for Analysis Servers, I select all component to be uninstalled and I get an unexpected error Occurred with no error message.
I check the registry and SQL Server, Analysis Services and SSRS are installed.
I removed most of the Visual Studio Component.
Has anyone experience this and does anyone have any ideas?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The error occurs when SQL Server Database Services uninstall is in progress.
It appears to crash when setting intenal properties.

I have removed everything but now I'm stuck with 2 instance of SQL Server Reporting Services.
When I click on SQL Server 2005 in Add Remove Programs I get an error that SQL Server has already been removed.
