can't install SQL SERVER 2008 SP3/SP4 on WINDOWS server 2016

  • Good day Everyone,

Does anyone here know the reason & how to install SQL SERVER SP3 on windows server 2016?
I was successfully installed SQL SERVER 2008 Developer edition. and the next thing to do is to install  SQL Server SP3 or SP4, then when trying to install SP3 (x64) on our new windows server 2016  by clicking the ENU file nothing happened.

I was successfully installed it  to windows 10, unfortunately i can't do it on windows server 2016.  Please help.

  • I haven't seen this issue, but haven't tried SQL2008. Have you rebooted after install to be sure no pending operations?

  • Hold on for sometime as it might be taking more time to launch due to resource exhaustion.

  • Hmmmm... please tell me you're not using the Developer Edition on a production box.

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.
