cannot browse data after processing cube

  • We cannot browse the data after processing a cube. It gives us an unspecified error. Everywhere we have search it suggests that we add the service packs, but after installing them up to service pack 3 we are still getting the error. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks.

  • Check the Visible property of the cube. I have noticed that sometimes, for reasons I haven't been able to determine, this gets 'flipped' to false and will generate the error you are getting.

  • Are you trying to view the data through Analysis manager or a separate client? If a separate client, you may need to add a role/s to the database/cubes to allow users to view them.

  • Where are you browsing from? If your using Office, then you need the Office Service Packs, as well as the Analysis Services.

    If once you process the cube and you us analysis services and browse and receive an error, then you have some problems with your cube. Are you doing a complete reprocess of the cube?
