Can i detach db being in 'norecovery' state?

  • The goal is to restore log on different 'stopat' values without 'restore database mydb from c:\bkp.bak with norecovery' each time.

P.S. I cannot stop sqlserver service (if you propose stop it and make a copy of db files)

  • Detach, yes. Reattach, probably not.

    Considered restoring WITH STANDBY?
