All of a sudden BIDS has gone flaky on a Windows Server 2008 Machine.
At first I thought that it was the size of my SSIS Package but I ruled that out by using another machine.
I was adding task and BIDS Locked up and I had to restart.
BIDS gave me nothing but trouble from that point going forward.
I goggled for a solution but no luck.

Have you rebooted your machine?
Maybe try a repair using the SQL Server set-up?
Or do a clean re-install?
Need an answer? No, you need a question

I rebooted the machine and I still have the same issue.
I will try a repair but I have to wait for someone to insert the installation media in the machine since it is remote and in a different time zone.
I thought that I posted the error that I got.
I tried the following command to log events:
Devenv.exe /log "C:\SSIS\MyLog.txt"
The application is hanging.

I'm not running any. I had checked that for I heard where it has been known to cause issues.

I have multiple instances of SQL Server.
I'm working on the Default Instance and someone else is working ton the Dev Named Instance.
What is the proper way to repair a SQL Server Installation. I have never done it with 2008 R2 and I'm concerned about it impacting someone else.

I was able to split the packages up on another server.
Then I created a new solution and I only had an issue with hanging on a few occasion.
It appears that the problem may in part have been related to the solution or project being corrupt.
Whatever the case I'm back in business for now.
