I could use some book recommendations. I am currently A SQL DBA with past programming experience in Java and "C++", I haven't done much programming in the last 2 years. I have been asked to look into writing some Web applications for our Intranet site using data from Sql Server 2000 and XML. I would like to use C#. So if I could find a book or several that cover Web Programming in C# connecting to a Sql Server with XML thrown in would be great. Anyone having some experience and a book recommendation would be greatly appreciated.

MS Press has one of the Step by Step books on ADO.Net that has examples in C#, decent place to start.
