Almost everyone has a date and time dimension but are there other boiler plate dimensions out there?
I'm planning a data warehouse and data strategy that involves using ISO, industry and national data standards. For example Airports have an IATA code, Countries and currencies have ISO codes.
Is anyone aware of any dimensional resources for these patterns.
I had hoped there would be something in Len Silverston's books but nyada.

I have never seen any resources like this. For all of the DW projects that I have worked on, a considerable amount of time is spent defining facts and dimensions and each has been significantly different. Other than date and time, the only other dimensions that I see occur more than others are person related ones such as Employee, Customer or Person. Company is another one that has showed up a lot for me as well. You might try looking at bidn.com as well to see if Brian Knight and his crew have any suggestions.
