I am having all sorts of issues with BIDS these days. The latest one is that I can't seem to get the ForEach Container to open properly.
The BIDS 2005 version opens just fine, showing me the details under the Collection tab, including the Enumerator section. But in BIDS 2008, the ForEach container just gives me a blank (see attached).
The only thing I've found references permissions issues in the registry (it's an old article referring to SQL 2k5[/url]), but that doesn't make sense to me given that BIDS 2005 actually does show the enumerator just fine.
Any thoughts? My google fu is not working this morning.

I've definitely seen it before, but have always been able to fix between some combination of switching the enumerator type to something other than File, then back again, or dragging a new one in from the toolbar - I take it this is happening constantly, even after a reboot?
If so, then I'd guess it's something to do with the install of the component itself that's screwy

Actually, this is definitely a UI bug. It looks like it's selected when you create a new one, but it's not behind the scenes.
Just dropping down the enumerator type and selecting "Foreach File Enumerator" again will bring up the File configuration UI

Howard, that's brilliant! It worked.
Thank you so very much. I was about to start developing in 2005 and then upgrade.

Are you having the same issue? if I'm not the only one, I might report it on Connect.

Yep, definitely happens on a couple of different BIDS environments
