We're in the process of upgrading, so I have a copy of BIDS 2005 & BIDS 2008 on my box. So far, I've been sticking to 2005 because most of my BIDS work has been troubleshooting for production packages which I don't want to upgrade.
Now, I'm designing a package that will go into Production on SQL 2008 (after we upgrade). But when I open BIDS 2008, I get "error A local workspace is required..." BIDS 2005 is connected up to TFS, and I do have a workspace, but BIDS 2008 doesn't see it.
Do I need to create a new workspace for 2k8 so that the 2k5 packages / projects don't get upgraded? If not, how do I get 2k8 to see my current workspace?
I've seen the MS link about running a tf workspace command, but it's terribly non-helpful in that it doesn't tell me if this is a command prompt command to be run or if it's something I run in BIDS...
Anyone have any ideas on this or go through this themselves?
