    This is an interesting editorial, Steve. I'm not sure I've worked in any place that really offered lots of "beer mode" type of work. My current position certainly doesn't. But it's not much worse than previous jobs.

    Thanks for sharing that, Steve. I'll never forget the time (first weekend of December 2016) when I was at a conference (not too demanding) in Vegas. While in this "beer mode" setting, I had two a-ha moments that sparked ideas and action on projects that were big deals in 2017. This is a useful way of thinking about how to develop creative solutions and pause to look at the forest once and awhile rather than a single tree or two.
