Hi,
Does any knows of a way to get the extract file (.csv) to recognize the delimiter when open in excel. Currently, all data comma delimited data are displayed in one column as opposed to delimited columns.
Thanks,
Tom

You have to go through the little wizard excel provides.
Execute excel first.
Then open the .csv file, and it will pop up the little wizard.
There is no way to put the necessary info Excel needs to open the file correctly into the .csv. (that I know of at least)

Thanks Ray. You're referring of sourse to the 'text to columns' conversion where you can reformat the data with the delimiter. I'm working with a Oracle DBA that uses java to import the data to his database. The unicode extract file contain a 'yp' in the first line of data that they're having problem resolving in their import. Any lesson learned or thought from you or members of the forum would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Tom
